Seeing is believing! Dr. Rosenfarb has been a huge inspiration to help me better understand this acupuncture speciality. A few years ago, I had very little understanding on acupuncture to treat degenerative eye diseases, but after spending multiple seminars with Dr. Andy Rosenfarb, I’m a believer. The micro-acupuncture 48 is a great method but I’m so glad that I’ve had the opportunity to take advanced training. There is nothing like going deep.
In Chinese Medicine we often talk about how the cold is bad for us. How it restricts circulation and that you should always avoid drinking ice cold water. However, @iceman_hof, The Ice Man, encouraged me to try taking cold showers as it has many health benefits. It can increase circulation, boost immune system and increase metabolism when done properly. I have been started this practice with cold showers and have really taken to it. I now take cold showers 90% of the time and try to jump in my lake purposely when the water is cold. Dinner tonight was spaghetti. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ One of my favourite dishes, from adding chilli flakes to the top (you can almost taste those metabolism boosting properties) to sneaking kale in the sauce, spaghetti is a staple in our house. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We always make our own sauce to avoid processed sugar and swap in rice noodles instead of the standard spaghetti noodle. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ How do you vamp up your meals to make them more nutritious?
Communication is key when it comes to working in the health industry. So many patients feel as though they are not being listened too. I always listen to any and all concerns before moving forward with a treatment concern. For those who work in the health industry how do you ensure that your patients feel heard?
So today was a little tough, I’m not going to lie. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ As many of you know I practice intermittent fasting. This practice has recently gained more of a following and seems to be a bit on trend. While I’ve been practicing for years I can tell you I am still experiencing the numerous benefits from this way of eating. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But it’s not easy all the time. Today was difficult. I felt hungry and wanted to break my fast early. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But I pushed through it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Not only are there many benefits to your body but fasting also strengthens your mind, teaching you to become more resilient and to persevere when times get tough. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Have you felt these mental benefits from fasting? Lunch. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I find that many people struggle when it comes to making and packing their lunches. Whether their excuse is lack of time or the cost of eating healthy many people jump to unhealthy alternatives during this meal. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ What's my #1 lunch hack? LEFTOVERS. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We always cook with leftovers in mind. In this video, I show you my super quick lunch routine where I take some of last nights leftovers, add a bit of olive oil, avocado and peppers to create a filling meal that will power me through the rest of my day. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If you find yourself struggling with lunch I urge you to cook larger portions at dinner and carry it over to your lunch. Once you've got the base down it will be easy to vamp up your, meal with a few add-ins.

Sometimes when life gets busy you have to get creative with your workouts. Today I was short on time and unable to go to the gym. Instead of accepting no workout I improvised. There’s nothing wrong with a little in-home balance beam workout! Such a great way to work your core and mental focus. What’s your favourite at home workout?

Shop the perimeter! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If you stay along the outside of the store you will hit all the important areas including the produce and meats/ fish sections. Try and stay away from the inside aisles as they are usually home to processed food options.

Have you ever heard the saying "exercise teaches you to become comfortable with feeling uncomfortable" ? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Well if I could sum up that one phrase it would be with this picture. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ A few months back I hosted a hanging challenge to see how long I could hang from my chin-up bar. It was hard and uncomfortable, to say the least, but taught me so much about both physical and mental strength. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I've continued this practice of hanging and try to make sure I hang a few days a week. 🐵 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Have you ever participated in an exercise challenge then kept with it after the challenge was done? 🤔
