🍓🌝 June's Full Moon, commonly known as the 'Strawberry Moon' (also- 'Hot Moon'/'Rose Moon'/'Honey Moon'), has always been recognized as such because now is traditionally the time to harvest the juicy fruit. But if we're getting spiritual with it, it's so much more than a time to collect berries.⠀ -⠀ This moon happening in Capricorn. The hard-working sign of the zodiac. We'll all be veiled with Capricorn's determined energy as the full moon rises in this sign. Which we'll need, because instead of the universe tossing us a bone, it'll be tossing us some challenges.⠀ -⠀ This mid-year moon is sort of like a flashlight. It'll shine itself on what we don't need in our lives anymore. Full moons are a completion of a cycle. ✨ This field around your physical body is known as your aura; your aura is like a magnet picking up vibrational energies that are all around you in an energy field. It's important to cleanse your aura freeing it of negative vibrations and energies.⠀ -⠀ One way to do that, like the picture above, is smudging either using sage or palo santo:⠀ ▸ Before lighting the sage, be clear about what you’re looking to release or bring into your life or space. Clear your mind and allow yourself to enter a meditative state.⠀ -⠀ ▸ Open a Window. Although many love the smell of sage, according to Native American tradition, life-sucking energies in their aura are repelled by it. Give bad vibes a space to flee by cracking open a window or door before you begin and a few minutes after to help clear the space.⠀ -⠀ ▸ Stand with legs apart, arms open in a “T” position. Wave the smudge in soft, elliptical motions from the bottom of your feet to the top of your head, including legs, along each arm, under each armpit and entire torso. Stand on your tip toes or lift each foot so you can pass the smudge underneath for clearing. With the sage still lit, go around the back and smudge the head, neck, torso and arms using the same format. Allow the power of the plant to guide you. Trust the medicine.⠀ #StretchWorkYoga
ALL GROWN UP? I feel so grown up when I look at this picture. I know its me and all but I look so professional don’t you think? That smirky smile tells me I am still curious, present and in tuned with the world. The fantastic @fotograf_gliljevall captured me in a moment in the fall last year when I was in between hospital runs, caring for our kids and animals and managing all on my own trying my best to keep my head above the surface, one breath at a time. I look at this picture and I see a woman. I guess I am a big girl now. I know I can take some heat and keep my smile present and heart open to receive despite heavy rain. We tend to think of growth spurts as existing purely in the physical realm, but I like to think we can experience these phases of rapid growing anywhere in our conscious or subconscious dimensions. 🍃 I always know when a growth spurt is coming because I start to question everything, withdraw into myself and into deeper quiet, and sit with my feelings more regularly. If it hurts, I let it hurt. I say, “I am hurting” without trying to fight it or run away and I assign a present moment affirmation to ground myself into everything that is. Not what I want it to be, not what I think it should be, I sit with what is. And sometimes it’s terribly painful. It’s not always a beautiful blissful experience to be present. Being still and staying present with yourself is not always euphoric. Sometimes it is, and sometimes it most definitely isn’t. But it’s real and it’s transformative and it’s awakening. Growth spurts are more often than not accompanied by growing pains. So when the challenge comes, when the lesson arrives, when you notice the deep bones aching a bit, acknowledge it, bow your head, open your hands and receive what is yours to receive in this moment. It won’t last forever. There will be another season, another spring, another phase of the moon and change of the tide.
