Today was my first day back in the gym in 2 weeks!! 😳 First it was Guatemala, then it was pneumonia. Either way today was tough. I fought the urge to puke, pass-out, and just give in as my body was complaining the entire time! I was so glad I didn’t quit, pushed through the pain, and completed the class. The sense of pride and accomplishment I felt and have continued to feel all Day was def worth the struggle! Everything we want in life will come from action, perseverance, and not giving up! Battle ropes, kettlebell swings, primal movements are my types of cardio. I try to avoid bikes, treadmills, ellipticals, etc, although they’re great however there are so many more advantages when combing battle ropes, kettlebells, and movement as part of your training. 👊 Give this amazing finisher a go today. Simple flow this morning. Animal flow is meant to make you move as fast or slowly as possible, it’s your movement and how you control your moves, so move with intention. Today I’m moving very slow, last night had a big part to it (whisky) however I made my ass to the gym to move. Here are some simple flow movements, still working on form and technique. Rockin that Friday Flow!!! About 7 months ago I traded in my fitness mindset. I used to workout for my sanity, to make up for sloppy eating habits, stress relief, and in an attempt look a certain way. I Flew 1,400 miles back to California on very little sleep, took a car in to be serviced, welcomed 5 new people onto our team during the drive home, coached 3 leaders, made cookies, did homework, made dinner, launched a promotion, went live for a new market, and made it to the gym. Could I have skipped today? Could I have rested? Did I have a valid excuse? The answer to each one of those is absolutely yes, but I chose not to let anything get in the way of what I want more. Tri- Superset between exercises and avoid taking a break after each exercise. +Close grip barbell push thru +Flies to narrow grip dumbbell press +Alternating tricep work Each set should be followed by a superset 3 sets / 15 reps 45 second rest
Recovery day: There will always be obstacles and challenges that will stand in your way. I’ve channeled health and fitness and starting to build mental strength that has helped me develop resilience to those potential hazards so that I can continue on my fitness journey to success. I have a long ways to go in developing my skills. It’s not about a single skill, it’s a variety of skills and coping mechanisms. To bounce back from bumps in the road as well as failures, focus on emphasizing the positive.
Today was legs day but I was also able to add mobility training with @christianflowerpower. It was an honor training with Chris as he knows so much about how we move and why we should incorporate mobility in our workouts. After a session with him, I hit it hard with high interval circuit training emphasizing legs and core. Of course I had to add push ups😜. Educate yourself but most importantly train smart and make sure to listen to your body. I don’t normally wear an elbow brace but this was given to me. Thank you to @fitactivesports - love it and helps me add a few more reps! Lets drink some coffee @gojavita and lets get those gains! #javitafit
