If you consistently feel tired, bloated, unmotivated, and generally like you need a nap after most meals or snacks you may want to consider adding more anti-inflammatory fats and high-quality protein to your plate. Foods that are high in simple carbohydrates (soda, packaged baked goods, breakfast cereals, and artificial sweeteners) and/or sugar do provide your body with quick energy (because the sugar in these foods hits your bloodstream quickly), but they don’t keep you satiated or give you sustained energy. Because the modern lifestyle causes us to be overworked and chronically stressed it’s not surprising that we’re reaching for these types of foods, but they’re not providing us with what we need Try adding some more anti-inflammatory fats (think EVOO, coconut oil, avocado oil/avocados, walnut oil) and high-quality protein (wild caught fish, pastured chicken and pork, grass-fed beef, soaked beans and lentils, pastured eggs) to your meals and see if it helps you feel less bloated, keeps you satiated longer, provides sustained energy, and may reduce brain fog. Try out this easy recipe that’s easy to cook in big batches to bring to work, eat for breakfast, or use as a side at lunch or dinner: 1 pkg bacon (I use pastured/organic bacon) 2 handfuls of asparagus 2 TB coconut aminos 🥓 Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grab 2-3 spears of asparagus and a piece of bacon, wrap the bacon around all pieces of the asparagus covering as much as possible from top to bottom. Place on a parchment lined baking sheet, repeat with remaining bacon and asparagus. Drizzle coco aminos over the bacon. Place on lower rack of oven and bake for 30-40 minutes, flipping halfway through. I’ve been using this low-spoon recipe a lot recently! If you try it out let me know what you think 😊 .
Get your chips and veggie sticks ready for this delicious roasted artichoke hummus with spiced chili oil! I love hummus because it is so versatile, easy to make and delicious 😋 what is your favorite dip? Roasted Artichoke Heart Hummus with Spiced Oil 1 ½ cups artichoke hearts fresh or frozen (thaw and pat dry if using frozen) 2 tbsp olive oil 1 tsp garlic minced Kosher salt, pepper Heat oven to 425. Line a baking sheet with parchment toss artichoke hearts with olive oil, garlic, salt and pepper. Roast for 20-25 minutes flipping halfway through. Set aside to cool. 1 ½ tsp coriander seeds 1 ½ tsp whole fennel seeds 2 tsp paprika ½ tsp red chile flakes ½ cup olive oil Heat small skillet over low heat. Add coriander and fennel seeds toast for 30 seconds, add paprika and chile flakes for another 30 seconds. Remove from heat add spices to a blender with the olive oil and blend until smooth. (Strain if preferred) 1 can chickpeas 2 garlic cloves, peeled and chopped ¼ cup tahini Zest and juice ½ lemon Salt, pepper Fresh chopped parsley Roasted artichokes Place all ingredients in a food processor and blend until combined. Top with oil and serve.

As part of my healthy eating plan I must have some rabbit food sorry I mean salad at least once a week 😄. I mostly have my salad with chicken. To make the salad more appealing I switch things up here or there at times. This is my second salad this week and as part of "waste less food" initiative, I had not choice. However to switch things up I am having the salad with @asda garlic and coriander naan bread rather than just chicken. I have sprinkled on the salad @nandosuk periperi sauce the coconut flavour. I am having it with chicken fillet and I have to confess that the chicken was a bit hard. 😅 (Yes I will do better next time). I will probably only use chicken fillet if I'm having it the same day. If you want to adapt a help eating or meal plan while practising less food wastage, try switching your salad up add a naan bread. In the bright side this means I have taken a lot of my five a day. I had so much fun playing with these peaches I got from the Farmers Market last weekend ☺️ I'm remembering my obsession with them last season and I think it's safe to say the feeling's here to stay. I stuffed the peaches with a little almond flour mixture before roasting them and it turned out to be one of the juiciest, easiest yummy peach desserts I could have imagined! Love it when things go right in the kitchen 😋 Roasted Peaches 3-4 ripe peaches, cut in half, pits removed 2 tbsp almond flour 2 tbsp arrowroot starch 2 tbsp coconut sugar 2 tbsp butter or coconut oil, melted Preheat the oven to 425º F Cut the peaches in half and remove the pit. Arrange them in a single layer on a baking sheet and set aside. In a small bowl combine the almond flour, arrowroot starch, coconut sugar, and melted butter or coconut oil and mix to combine. Use your fingers to crumble ~1 ½ tbsp of mixture into the center of each peach half. Bake 20 minutes, skin down, until the filling begins to brown and the peaches are tender. Enjoy warm on their own or with a scoop of dairy-free vanilla ice cream!

These cheese briouats, fried Moroccan filo pockets similar to a samosa, are filled with laughing cow cheese. At first, we thought it they were made with such because it was a western cheese and we’re American, until we went to the supermarket and saw laughing cow cheese sold in bulk. We had a handful of these crispy parcels, my favorite being a spinach and cheese briouat served with a sesame and soy sauce. Just one of the many pockets Marrakech fed us. #theworldinapocket
