Feast your eyes upon the transformation of the old concrete floor to the new! Mr Neap has been off after recovering from a broken hand since January and then an appendectomy at the weekend. 😳 so the brains of the outfit was out of action whilst the brawn 💪(me obvs) continued to shovel out about 8 tonnes of concrete. Massive thanks to all our friends and family who helped along the way, again guys, this wouldn't have been possible without you adding to the story!! Helping Mrs Neap cope with the workload and generally coming along even when we weren't there and just getting on with it. Cant even thank you enough. 🙌🙌🙌🤩😘
The start of the drainage layout before the new concrete floor goes down. Dug down to meet building control specs......now to fill it all in again. All the work never to be seen again.
Welcome to our first ever interior question post! 🤗🙌 This in itself feels pretty monumentous, as does the weight of a decision that currently lies heavily on our shoulders. FLOORS! So in the kitchen, hallway, porch, wet room and bathroom we have chosen limestone with underfloor heating. But there's a problem...We both like different colours and can't agree. We're looking for a vote from our insta/Facebook communities about which limestone choice you would go for and why. For sake of not influencing the vote, we won't say which partner prefers what. We've included a couple of kitchen ideas we like, specifically featuring the two tone cupboard door colours. The stone is from @mystonefloor , the colours are Dijon (light one) and farrow grey (grey one obvs, but this sample is from a mixed grey tiles look, so it may not look as dark as in the picture) Picture 3 is Dijon in action, picture 4 is farrow grey in action.
Scaffold down....at last! Outside now pretty much complete minus drainage and window paint. Just the inside to go.
Dear Insta designers and Renovators and anyone with an interest in this. We're looking at bathroom layout. This is a main bathroom located on ground floor. This is currently what architect had planned and whilst we like what's there, we'd also like to explore further ideas. This is where you come in. What would you do here?
First cooked meal at Neap! Pork from Neap grown piggies. Freshly butchered minutes before it was cooked on the stove. Thanks to @reelmaetshetland for this! Good friends and good food. Final push to get the big stones out and clear a way for hardcore and concrete slab and underfloor heating!! Thanks to @jarhead1984 for the help today. And to @keira.tulloch and Fraser Mouat for previous help in this area. The lonely days were a slog but we got there. This also marks the official day of the end of demolition! Onwards and upwards from here.
So Mr Neap has a suspected broken wrist, Mrs Neap is picking up the slack where she can. Last old concrete floor coming out its slow, boring, back breaking work especially on your own.👎
Like daddy like daughter. Happy New Year everyone. Mr Neap has been doing a bit of framing but things have slowed down because of rising damp and sorting the wood affected by it. On a similar note, it would be super helpful if the scaffolding could be taken down but it has sat there in a half deconstructed state just looking ridiculously messy and being in the way in general. We had hoped to get out and dig a moat around the house to encourage the water away from it. Go away scaffolding. #renovating #renovatingneap #renovation #renovationproject
Happy Christmas from Neap. Here's Santa casually checking out the progress and double checking if we've been naughty or nice ...!!! 🎅😇😬 . . . . #socool #santaflyby #merrychristmas #santa #renovatingneap #definitelynorenovatingrightnow #christmaseve #myhouseonthehill #myhome #christmas #helicoptersanta #christmas2018
It's a never ending tide of foot high broken concrete and hard core. Bye old concrete floor 👋 One day this will be a heated floor with beautiful slate sitting atop. Focus on the goals Cheryl you can do this. 💪 #renovatingneap #renovation #renovationproject #renovationreality #itsheavy #rockseverywhere #sendhelp #hardcorereno #renovationsofshetland #focusonthegoal #demolition #igotthis
