I’m pretty sure they wake up each day and look more like each other than the day before. My little twins 6 1/2 years apart 😍
During church yesterday they asked us to take a minute and pray for the fathers..and part of my prayer was that this man knows how much we love him every single day...not just on Fathers Day. He slid into the role of “daddy” seamlessly 9 years ago and I swear he just gets better every year. We love you!!!!
Saturday mornings are for home made flat whites and pancakes. I hope they always remember this tradition one day...as I know I will. And that Jessie doll lying there??? Gives me all the feels. This stage can leave me exhausted on all levels, but it sure is sweet, too!
They played with toys and used their imagination... and it just doesn’t happen that often anymore and I just wanted to record all of it. But i did good to get away with a picture, so I just sat there and pretended to read my book all while silently pushing that inner record button (which I then used 30 minutes later to block out the arguing of if a certain someone was being bossy or not. Can’t imagine you’d have a guess as to who was being labeled as bossy. Bless him...I get it 😜) Side note: you know Connor is excited about something when he lays everything out the night before and is ready the second his eyes open. Which is why at 7:20 he was fully dressed for his game tonight aside from his chest protector and pants. Love that kid.
As we were leaving the library this morning they decided it was a good day to have a lemonade stand. Never mind the fact that our neighborhood sees about 12 cars drive through during the day 😉, they were excited. So, we headed to the store for them to pick out all of their supplies. They only sold 2 cups (to the same sweet neighbor)...and our time was cut short due to a certain something slithering waaaay too close for comfort, but they are already talking about doing it again. I will consider that a win!
When we found out I was pregnant with Connor, I immediately started dreaming what it would be like to have a boy. And then I’d dream about a girl. This picture right here is almost an exact replica of what would go through my head back in 2009. Blonde pony, big bow, sunkissed skin and a sweet little girly outfit on a little girl at pretty much exactly this age. It’s just a fun little twist that she just so happens to look sooooo much like her brother that I was pregnant with at the time, too!
Randomly last week he asked me...fun or nice dinner? I answered in my normal over analyzing/need all the info fashion with “either one...I guess it just depends on the situation.” Bless that sweet, patient man for just rolling with it. ⠀⠀ Little did I know that he was planning an extra birthday celebration for me with just the two of us. His original plan fell to the wayside due to weather, but what we fell into was perfect. A little shopping followed with an amazing dinner at @charnashville. ⠀⠀ Time with him is always my favorite and just gets sweeter as the years go by. Thank you for making the start of my 35th year the best, Matt Kegley. I love you! #ipreview via @preview.app
One of my favorite parts of summer right here. Slow mornings that include sipping HOT coffee while moving my water hose from plant to plant. So simple and quite literally makes me so happy. As does this girl...even though she does love to snatch the hose out of my hand while saying “I DO IT” very determinedly #shegetitfromhermomma . (Also, WHY IS SHE SO HUGE and basically this big toddler?! Slow your roll, sis!)
It’s a gooooood morning when your just starting breakfast at the time you would normally be dropping the boys off at school. Summer, please stay awhile 😍
