Just a friendly reminder that today is what is in front of us. Give what is available and listen to what your body and mind is telling you. Another way to look at the popular quote “be gentle with yourself, you are doing what you can.”
What is the one thing that a woman wears every time she works out? This was the light bulb thought that led me on the path to creating Koala Clip. Our goal is to create the best nuisance-free way to carry your phone while working out or traveling light and hands-free.
Just a quick reminder - you are enough. 💪💪💪👊🏻 Don’t let anyone tell you differently (including yourself)! Because let’s be honest, we are our own worst critics. I find taking 5 minutes to sit and breathe in moments that I feel like I’m failing, particular in parenting, helps put everything back in perspective. Lots of people like Headspace app, But I use an app called Insight Timer. It’s free, offers guided talks as well as just a timer. I don’t sit everyday but when I give myself this space, I never regret it.
As much of the country braces for the first snow storm of the winter, be sure to make smart choices when choosing to head outside. 1. Wear reflective pieces. Even if it’s not dark, reflective pieces help drivers see you while it’s snowing. 2. Layer layer layer. A wool base layer will help keep you warm but not soaked when starting to sweat. I personally love jackets with zippers along side body to with temperature regulation. Like this @lululemon pictured. 3. Take your phone with you - worst case you can call or Uber for lift back. 4. Know your limits. There is no shame in turning back and heading to the treadmill or taking a rest day. 5. Have fun in the snow. Have you tried cross-country skiing or sledding? Taking the day to do something in the snow is never a bad idea. Share with us - what works for you in the cold and snow?
Hi there! I’m Kristina the woman behind Koala Clip. After years of being frustrated by the options available of how to carry my phone with me while running, I had this crazy idea in the middle of a long run about a simple pouch that would slip inside the back of my sports bra. There are no angel investors or Kickstarter campaign behind this little idea. I bought a $50 sewing machine and using youtube figured out how to sew and create my vision. For the first four months, I literally hand sewed every single Koala Clip ordered. The women who take the risk on trying us out, and tests out our claim of being nuisance-free are our investors. Every piece of feedback, each review submitted or idea that is DMd or emailed to us is read by me personally and taken seriously. I know other products have claimed to be bounce-free or sweat-resistant, but honestly those were not designed for women. Our hips and bodies and needs have always been secondary. As @drstacysims likes to say “we are not small men.” My aim of our community here on Instagram is to connect, inspire, and share our stories. I would love to hear more about you. Introduce yourself in the comments, as I’m sure we’d all like to follow along to your story as well.
We all get to choose each day to chase down our dreams, fit in our workout between all of the other things in our life, and create this little slice of time just for OURSELVES! When do you carve out the time? Are you a get it done before the rest of the world sleeps, lunchtime warrior, or erase the work day and get after it before dinner?
Big dreams start with small steps. Don’t get bogged down in the big picture or all the miles to come or how far you have to go. Starting small is how anyone who has ever accomplished anything extraordinary began. What small step are you taking today towards your goals? 💫💫💫💫 #Keepitsimple #womenempowerment #motivationwednesday #womensrunningcommunity #koalaclip
Nourishing our mind is just as important as our body. If you need a good dose of positivity, putting in the work, and how to move on after disappointment - head over to hear @alysiamontano on Thrive Academy Podcast. This is an older interview but one that I have listened to more than once, especially when I’m feeling all woe-me. I’ll share the link in bio.
Who is gearing up for #bostonmarathon2019? We never know what kind of weather we’ll get on race day - and #bostonmarathon2018 is the best reminder of that. All we can do is train as we can, prepare both physically and mentally. And have the gear to make race day a little simpler. For those who made it through the 2018 marathon - look at that medal with pride to know you gutted it out through what had to be some of the worst conditions. For those gearing up for your first Boston, or your redemption from last year’s mess, we’ve got your back and all of us will be with you supporting and encouraging. 📷 @dchongerz with a dry phone 😉 #koalaclip #wevegotyourback #simplifyingyouradventures #womensrunningcommunity #marathons
Our goal: simplifying workouts for women. Creating a distraction-free way to carry your phone, cards, ids whether you run, bike, walk, climb mountains, ride horses, or hit the gym. Because we believe your phone should be around when you want it but unnoticeable when you don’t.
Good luck to everyone running/racing this weekend. Sending you speedy and joyful thoughts. if you are running - add below so we can cheer you on! 💪💪💪 Special shout out to these two #sheros and #mompreneurs / @tinamuir88 and @ericasara / we can’t wait to see you guys rock tomorrow at the Disney half. #womencrushfriday #womensupportwomen #lifteachotherup #disneymarathon2019
What are your must haves for running? I like to think of myself as a run-minimalist but I almost never leave the house without my @garmin And phone tucked into (and out of mind) in @koalaclip. 📷 @absolutelyessential and sharing her favorite EO for running aches and tights muscles (PanAway from YLO).
The habits, the routines, the daily work - we lace up our shoes, tighten our ponies and get to work on our own or with friends - for the love, the joy, and the individual pursuit of bettering ourselves.
