Not at all wishing I was back in warmer Puerto Rican weather and totally looking forward to the Polar Vortex (and 1000% definitely *not* channeling Shelley Darlingson a la “The House Bunny” whenever I say the words “Polar Vortex”).

Last week my therapist asked me, “Why do you think you get these opportunities and not someone else?” and I pretty much sank into the couch and felt my breath catch a little because that’s the heart of it, you know? Not feeling worthy. Whether it’s having a conversation with someone (what will they think of my response?), standing in an aisle at Trader Joe’s (I’m not healthy enough!); working out at the gym (my limbs are just flailing everywhere!)... it’s like I live my life waiting for someone to realize the judges are all drunk and I’ve bribed my way in at the door. And it’s not to say I’m the *most* worthy in any way (trust me, my life is a whole lotta luck), but I’m pretty excited to learn exactly what I’m worth. It may be a slow and steady process, but some say that wins the race! ✨ #RealLife
And then I flew back to Boston and sneezed through two whole tissue boxes without leaving my bed even once.
This is Rooftop Pup. He must bark to protect the humans. He does this from his roof. 10/10 pup.
Happy New Year, grandpa! We lost you eight years ago today, and I’ve thought about you every day since. Hope you’re still listening to Patsy Cline, hand sewing fishing nets, and swimming at sunset. May 2019 be a year that I make you proud. やかましい ✨
A little over five years ago, my dad was diagnosed with cancer. A little over 24 hours ago, he was deemed cancer free. Thank you to my awesome friends and coworkers who helped me board a plane to surprise my parents last night. It’s been the best kind of sigh of relief.
I deactivated Instagram for a week and learned a lot about the people around me IRL instead of their social media presence (it was quite nice). I also accidentally reactivated my account earlier than I’d have liked. And I developed zits; lots of chin-zits. And I did my first video shoot for New Balance! And I was invited to decorate a Christmas tree, which was a gesture that really meant a lot! And I overthought a lot of things! And I made an appointment for my first therapy session! Anyway, I’m not sure yet how I want Instagram to fit into my life and my mental health, but while I’m here I figured I’d share all of this. And this photo from the video shoot today. It was good.
