✨ CLIENT SHOUT OUT ✨ By Samantha Melbourne is an awesome wrap dress creator in Melbourne. Not only are her dresses to die for, but they are made right here in Melbourne. Since meeting Samantha last year and falling in love with her.... dresses and business, we are now on to our second collection of prints, she’s had me help build her business and brand and we are even doing events together. Out of all that has also blossomed a beautiful friendship 😘 This is Winston checking out her stall in the South Melbourne Markets, go check her out and buy a beautiful wrap dress! 💃🏻
✨ 3 thousand followers ✨ So in a world of massive followings and huge numbers, I’m actually super proud of my little following. Three thousand genuine followers who I truly value. So to those who follow, who comment, who like my posts, thank you. I truly value you
Spinning into Saturday 💃🏻 So if you follow my IG story you would know what this dress is all about. And why my face is so damn happy about it. This time last year, I attended @finders_keepers and bought my first @bysamanthamelbourne dress. Today, I wore one of the samples of our first collection, this teal maxi. Between Sam and I, we came up with the prints, the different colour ways and next week the fabric arrives here in Melbourne. It’s so humbling to see how much has changed in one short year, I’ve never been busier, more stressed, or more completely thrilled and fulfilled with life ✨
✨ BEHIND THE SCENES ✨ Today I’m helping out with a shoot with a bunch of wonderful people. Be sure to follow on ig stories and allll of these people! @tigerlilyweddingsmelbourne @matt_jeffries_entertainment @happily_ever_afterphoto @stuartvideoproductions @jhdesigns @reginiercakes @magicalmakeovers @a_day_to_remember_event_hire @pearlessence_candles_teacups @limozone @findmyperfectvenue @carmeli_old_fashion_cooking @the_flower_booth @begborrowdeal @bysamanthamelbourne @yarravalleycrystals @outlookhill_cottages @relaxunwindmassage @grownwithlovemelbourne @sophiemulheran @tessabuds @maggiiemcguire @speakwithcolours
Bit of a throwback to two years ago when @milkbardigital and I created this video about my business. Little did we both know we would be here 2 years later, both having moved offices, grown our businesses and doing videos together for clients and kicking ass as we did it. I’m so lucky and proud to partner with Sam and Nic every time we have a project and love where our business relationship has grown to. Thanks for taking over the world with me guys!
Happy Anniversary to this wonderful couple, @jasminekaylah and @timothyabernethy 😍 I still remember painting this gorgeous sign for your special day last year, capturing the words to promised to each other in your vows. Together we created a gorgeous backdrop to the most wonderful day of your lives, one that will last forever. Love you two x
Already? Julying to me! 🤨✨ Seems crazy that this new financial year is already here, this is my 3rd in full time freelancing. I've finally accepted that I'm a full grown adult (kind of) with a real grown up job (kind of). And so in my infinite, and now ancient, wisdom have conceded to do the GST thing. Fun on a bun. Ok, off to see the tax lady and do the things...
This little treasure has been so wonderful, so loving, so good to us and it’s only been a couple of days of puppy sitting. We are loving looking after little Winston. I feel these next 30 days are going to fly past in a blink of an eye, but for now our days are filled with walks, dog parks, carrots and chew toys 🐶✨✍🏻
Today we welcome our puppy sitting guest for the next month, Winston 🐶😍 can you tell I’m a little bit excited? Who doesn’t love a welcome chalkboard! Shout to @stefankunz and @ianbarnard for their grid builder and tips on how to create letterforms. It feels so natural when you’re doing it and makes so much sense (particularly Ian’s technique on drawing s) ✍🏻👩🏻🎨
Can we just talk about a freaking cold and foggy it was thismorning! 🌨 I mean I know I’m in Melbourne, not Canada or somewhere icy, but daaaaamn it was cold 🌬
There’s something about surrounding yourself with your own brand that makes you proud to do what you do. It’s the same reason I love creating signs for my clients, I get to share that pride with them and inspire them to love what they do even more ✨ I actually experimented on this with a technique inspired by @pandrdesignco powerhouse women @roxyprima and @phoooebers that they used on a mural in a salon. So. Much. Fun. 🖌
Do it. Make ‘em watch. Let ‘em know you didn’t come here to play. And own that sh*t. ✨ tag someone who needs to hear this 👆🏻
Someone smart once told me that when a person is doing simple problem solving, like doing a puzzle, their brain is more open to absorbing information and it’s easier to make things happen as their solution skills are in action. 🤔 Last week I made this for @popsicle.designs, a branded puzzle they can have on their meeting room table for when they meet with clients to help aid the problem solving process. Needless to say I’ve done it a million times now...
My favourite thing about being a freelancer is every single day is different! The other week, I was lucky enough to create a scale building for @jll and @140william completely out of engraved wood. My favourite part was all the elements were held together with finger joins, joins that fit together without any glue or adhesive. Swipe across to see the construction!
I know I’m not the only one that gets paralysis by analysis, especially when it comes to IG and Facebook. I sit there and I contemplate what to post, will it be good enough, will it attract the clients I want, will it get enough likes or comments, blah blah blah. Then I have to say “hey Jaz, snap out of it! Just post goddamn it!” So here’s your prompt to just post. Post what you love, what you’re proud of, what you want! Shouts to @popsicle.designs for putting a phrase to my condition! 🙊
In a world where it’s so technology saturated, always connected by phone or computer, it was nice to unplug if only for a short flight on @jetstaraustralia to Sydney last week. Harnessing my inner @mrseaves101 (bit of an idol of mine) I took my pen and the sick bag in my seat and got to sketching ✍🏻 Huge shout out goes to @stefankunz And @ianbarnard for their grids, having them to reference was a lifesaver!
