2nd Birthday eve ❤️ balloons have been blown, cakes are in the oven, presents are wrapped... for Persephone’s cake I’ve adapted my one pan chocolate rye cake from Stirring Slowly. It’s SO easy, and I’ve tweaked it a little, reducing the sugar etc for the little ones. If it works I’ll share the recipe. Got some great candle holders to go on top from @niddlenoddleshop! P loves a farmyard animal. Not sure who’s more excited right now, me or her. #StirringSlowly

My no added sugar first birthday cake for P! Not even honey or maple or anything. Just fruit. It was a big hit, and not just with the kids, the adults loved it too (Link in bio). It’s her 2nd birthday this week and wondering what to make... what’s your favourite kid friendly/ or not too sugary cake? (I do let her have a little sugar now, within reason.) Any recommendations welcome. Getting very excited - tonight it’s balloon blowing night ❤️🎂 also how is she almost 2?!

Apparently there is sun in London?! (We’re in the north. So obviously it’s forecast rain for our bbq). But there are marquees and matting and I love how a bit of rain doesn’t put brits off! First errand of the day is buying fresh buns. Praying for more sun next week when I want to recreate this scenario in my aunts garden and do a Cypriot bbq too. That smell ❤️nothing better. #TavernaGH

The worst kind of regret are the gems you didn’t buy. Any guesses what these wicker hanging beauties are? It was a revelation for me! And wishing I bought them all 💔another reason to go back to Cyprus ASAP (that and the shit weather).
Just dropped this beauty off at P’s nursery for their summer (🌨⛄️☔️) fete! It’s a recipe from @penandspoon brilliant book Cocoa. And while I haven’t sneaked a slice I did try the batter and it’s divine. There is yoghurt and grated chocolate in the mix. It’s simple to make, even Persephone got involved. The original recipe is chocolate and lavender and I made the rookie mistake of starting the recipe before checking all my ingredients, and of course I didn’t have any cooks lavender so I swapped in rose instead. I hope you approve Sue! Right, off to get our wellies on and attack the tombola. Happy Saturday everyone. X
