Holiday cooking at its best. Fresh, local fish stuffed and topped with lemon and garlic and covered in local olive oil. Baked for just over an hour... The result was a beautifully delicate white fish, perfectly balanced by the lemon, garlic and olive oil. Served with a chopped salad and lashings of aioli... of course!
Hola! I’m in Majorca sunning myself. Last night our hire car failed us and left us broken down and stranded in a field by the side of the road. There’s a new opening in town and it needs to go to the top of your #londonrestaurant lists. @arrosqd is three Michelin starred @qiqedacosta ‘s first international restaurant. Opening officially on Friday 7th June, @arrosqd will champion rice, an ingredient often overlooked by high-end gastronomy. I’ve never tasted #paella like this... which means that all paella that has gone before this one has been entirely inferior. This paella was 💅🏻 #valencia / Mediterranean inspired cuisine at its very best. Book now, it’s going to be a busy opening for this restaurant 👊🏻 (oh and the kale salad on the side was incredible, as were the truffle bombs, the cheesy pebbles and the black garlic aioli... they have around five aioli on the menu, and they cook over fire, and they have counter top dining. All of my favourite things. I cannot wait to return!
Last night I got married!!! Lol... let’s start again... last night I went to the most beautiful venue @wildbytart to celebrate the rejuvenation of @nyetimber ‘s demi-sec Cuvee Chérie. Last night @billy_and_jack and I had the pleasure of attending the @clos19official @refettoriofelix x @tart_london charity dinner. This was the first in a series that @clos19official will be hosting in order to raise vital funds for the non-profit organisation @refettoriofelix at St Cuthbert’s, Earls Court. Founded by world renowned chef @massimobottura @refettoriofelix works to ensure that London’s food waste is put to incredible use. Each chef hosting a supper club at @refettoriofelix will be challenged to create a waste based menu on the day! Last night we enjoyed the creations of @tart_london - I’ve never had a slow cooked courgette before but I want more of that dish that’s for sure! @clos19official announced that next up will be @skyegyngell from @spring_ldn - keep an eye on their feed / email newsletter for ticket details! All funds will go to @refettoriofelix who feed those who need it most every day! I made #brownies for the village hall antique sellers in Upton last night (my Dad is one of them and he’s lovely). I popped in yesterday for a chat with Jimmy, he’s 84 and full of character. It went a little like this... me: “Jimmy, you’re looking well! How’s life treating you? Jimmy: “not bad! Can’t complain. I went on a guided tour around the new crematorium in Cheltenham the other day. Splendid place. Great sound system! Asides that, I’m not getting as much sex as I’d like to be” me: “have you tried Tinder? The crematorium may be full of smoking bodies but probably not the type you’re looking for...” The looks the old ladies were giving us 😂😂😂 The brownies are salted chocolate, pecan and walnut.
Last night I was taken on a culinary journey by the team at @yenrestaurant and @manonlagreve I’m yet to travel to Japan but as the team and Manon spoke with such passion and the food was so exquisite... Japan might have just shot to the top of the list! Thank you for having us @yenrestaurant - to my food loving friends, if you’d like an authentic taste of Japan, Yen is a must 🍣🍣🍣 when the soba master returns, so will I! #sushi #japanesefood
