Project 52/Week 22. All Hail the Queen. VA Renaissance Faire, Lake Anna Winery (Spotsylvania County)
Project 52/Week 14. Barboursville Ruins. Orange County VA. Once a mansion owned by James Barbour, governor of Virginia during the War of 1812, a two-term U.S. Senator, and Secretary of War under John Quincy Adams. It was destroyed by fire on Christmas Day 1884, and since has been left as a ruin. #visitvirginia
Project 52/Week 13. Mystic Falls, Virginia. Well, OK, technically it's Covington, Georgia, filming location for 100+ movies and TV shows. But it was SO MUCH FUN checking out the Mystic Falls spots ... stop #1 on my birthday weekend roadtrip earlier this month. The rest of the roadtrip photos should be up this week :).
Hello 2019! A new year means a new Project 52. How about a year of road trip adventures around the home state? Haven't done that since college days and I'm pretty sure I missed some stuff, and I get to set the destinations this time :) ... Given that there's a fairly good chunk of the state that takes all day or more to get to from home, I'm not sure how this one will flow logistically, but sure will be fun to try! Let me know about any cool natural, historic/cultural, or just fun outta-the-way places in Virginia I should check out!
