I coordinate discussions in Chicago to talk about a multitude of issues that directly impact the african, black afrolatino communities. Last nights discussion went awesome as expected. This clip is focusing on black mens health and how we have recognize and respect that when they go through shit, we need to take it serious. Between PTSD, post traumatic slave syndrome, institutionalized and systemic racism, self hate, our diets, purposeful media white washing and mass incarceration directed at black men, OF COURSE YOU GO THROUGH Mental and spiritual SHIT. We fail you to not recognize it and we fail you to not help you with it. The full clip is on @reinasays (private page, I only accept real pages)
I cant stay positive every minute. Not yet. I need to sage, meditate and call on the ancestors. Cuz I feel BLAHHHHHH.. I'm an empath and it's sometimes just overwhelming.

By locking your shoulderblades back together and holding them there for the whole movement, you’re preventing yourself from getting injured in the shoulders/tendons areas. - 2) STABLILITY. Arching your upper back creates a strong “base” or muscle shelf where you can rest on, pushing your muscles against the pad. Glutes stay GLUED to the bench, and so do your feet. - STRENGTH: this is simply the strongest way to bench press. By doing it correctly, you’re also able to load the exercise very heavy, therefore finally allowing yourself to build a strong and aesthetic chest! -

I decided to be a powerlifter because I was tired of feeling weak. Cardio made me feel weak because I had asthma. My first time with a personal trainer had me in the ER that night getting a nebulizer treatment(true story). I remember telling @tilldadeath_killamike that my goal wasnt to look a certain way but to be strong af. (I think I said something about being able to beat his ass lol) I've always desired to be strong, to get away from that feeling of weakness. . I've realized through my short journey in powerlifting that #powerlifting hasnt made me as strong psychically as some other lifters but I've never been this mentally strong in my life. . Powerlifting is looked down on by so many people; I chose a sport that gets a lot of flack. I chose a sport that intimidates a lot of people and makes them uncomfortable. I was questioned so many times! I was told to stop or I'd look like a man, I was told I wouldn't be able to get to any of my goals. I was told my form was bad, I was made fun of for having a big butt and not lifting over 225 (in the beginning), I was told I could never powerlift and be vegan, I was even told I shouldn't try to lift as heavy by OTHER female powerlifters during meets. . I had to continuously and consistently say "Fuck you, I'm doing what's best for me!" . Shirt from @girlswhopowerlift . #powerliftingvseverybody #gwpl #veganpowerlifter #afrolatina
#rp #Triceps.. The guy recording me was like "hey ya form is good but your back is curved, stop arching..." i was like... I'm not arching... he was like... "ok well stand up straight...." i did... he was like "oh shit... thats just how u shaped!?"....me: uh ya! 😂😂😂😂🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️. And Yes my shirt says "NOT BECKY" 🤷🏽♀️🤪
