The Runner. I was focused on capturing this interior space when a young man started running towards the door and, well, took over the shot. And he was so fast! He was out of sight within seconds.
Just wanted to add these 4 night shots of the financial centre. I'm still very new to night photography, and I often find it very difficult, but I think it's also very rewarding, especially during the holiday season with all the decorations.
I very rarely get the chance to post night time shots, so here's an evening lookup from a few days ago.
Second shot featuring One Bloor and the art installation "Safe Hands," with a lookup view from the right side. I went with a more saturated look than I initially planned to offset the effects of the clouds.
This is a shot of the giant window above the entrance to Commerce Court North, featuring the reflection of the enormous Brookfield Place complex. I tried to fit the reflection precisely within the frame provided by the window grid, which was only possible at this angle very close to the entrance. If you look closely, you can see that the curtains have been pulled to both sides of the window to let the light in, and they provide a kind of framework as well.
Happy weekend, friends! This is the entrance to 70 York Street (HSBC Building), which has one of my favourite facades of any building in the financial district. The newer highrise was completed in 1990 but incorporates the facades of older commercial buildings from 1889.
A symmetrical lookup of Royal Bank Plaza, as a companion shot to the previous one. The shot works best when flipped to the side, which is how it looks in the original.
