I think Coronation Street has brought this subject to everyone’s attention. If we have a poorly tummy or ear ache we go to the doctor because “something must be wrong” but if we have any dark thoughts, anxiety or stressed about something we keep it bottled up and this isn’t helping our mental health. I heard on the radio today that suicide is the number one cause of death for under 45 year olds! That’s scary! Talk to someone, a friend, family, a stranger, health profession, anyone. Even if it’s for a cupp and a chat! #dontkeepittoyourself #mentalhealthawarenessweek #mentalhealth #justcheckin #haveacuppaandtalk #justtalktosomeone #anxiety #stress #depression #coronationstreet #corrie
My close friends know that February is always a hard month for me to get through with depression and anxiety, haunting memories. None moreso than this man right here @stephenevansstiggy. On the 24th of this month a good few years ago I attempted to end my life, only seeing that it was my only choice. After being found and treated I am still here to tell the story. I am very open about this subject as I feel if my experiences can help just one other person I’ve done a good thing. This man helped me through the darkest of my days and held my hand on the road to bettering my life and myself. We don’t see much of each other these days but I still appreciate everything this amazing selfless friend did for me. Thank you stiggy for keeping me alive all those years ago. There is always love for you in my heart ol man 😘 x #suicide #suicideawareness #semicolon #depressionawareness #depression #anxiety #anxietyawareness #friends #justtalktosomeone #friendship #thankyou #neverforget #alwaysthere
Hi guys, Lauren here, your friendly neighborhood mental health advocate. (I have no idea what kind of photo to use for a post like this, so here is a photo of Covent Garden looking beautiful.) . Today (September 10th) is World Suicide Prevention Day – a day to raise awareness, help end stigma, and create hope for those affected by mental illness. . According to the CDC, each year more than 41,000 individuals die by suicide - leaving behind thousands of friends and family members to navigate the tragedy of their loss. Suicide is the 10th leading cause of death among adults in the U.S.A. and the 2nd leading cause of death among people aged 10-24. . One of the best things you can do if you know or suspect that your loved one is contemplating suicide is educate yourself. Learning about suicide, what the warning signs are, and how it can be prevented can help you understand what you need to do as a member of their support system. The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI.org) is a great resource. And please, if you need help, don't be afraid to seek it. #itsokaytonotbeokay #justtalktosomeone #nami #suicidepreventionday #worldsuicidepreventionday #mentalhealth #mentalillness #endstigma
It's amazing that people try everything to hurt your business. All you can do is go for a run, smile and get back to work.
