Before setting up in Griffith Park in LA and getting the Hollywood Cougar - I had cameras above the Golden Gate Bridge on a ridge line in Marin County overlooking San Francisco. Though there were signs of a cougar - I never got an image of one - so I moved the cameras to LA. As we branch out of our cities looking for new homes we move into the homes of animals. We do live with wildlife in our everyday lives, including small and larger predators. As with the cougars of the Santa Monica Rec Area - our largest Urban Park north of LA - there has never been a attack by a cougar on humans. We have not been apart of predators “image search” for food for millennium. We are upright walking on 2 legs with forward facing eyes. And we do not taste good! We use shampoos, deodorants, toothpaste, perfumes, we ingest chemicals in our everyday lives - we stink. So lets all live together. Jaguars are the 3rd largest of the big cats. Found from US / Mexico border to northern Argentina. Jaguars have rebounded in this area where 95% of the land is privately owned. In the past many ranchers would kill the cats when they ate their cattle. Today in this area tourism brings in much more money to the local economy than cattle ranching. So the jaguar population is increasing. But revenge killings of jaguars happen close to this area and all throughout the jaguars range. Also poaching for skins, bones and teeth is growing for the first time since the 1970’s to feed the demand for Asian Traditional Medicine and luxury items from endangered species. “When the buying stops, the killing can too.” @wildaid My first story with big cats was the 1st @natgeo Jaguar story 20 years ago! This was one beautiful and challenging April evening in Maasai Mara. We stopped to photograph this beautiful pride and our landcruiser couldn't start when we wanted to change angles. Of course as I always put the Image first, I insisted we keep shooting until all light was gone. Long story short we found a way to jump start the car after an hour. I would say, it was totally worth it. I got some fantastic images such as this, the lioness in golden light that is 5th from this image and some more to come. #ClementWild

There are only 7,100 left in the wild. Habitat loss is the #1 reason for the decline. Also hunting of their food, and turning wilderness into agriculture or livestock production. The pet trade is also a factor. 2/3 of the cheetah population live outside protected areas as cheetahs need to roam. These areas need to be friendly to wildlife with prey species protected for these predators - or we face a world without these magnificent creatures. Scientists desire the cheetah to be re-classified as endangered, which will help them. The Forests and Grasslands where they live provide all living creatures with up to 50% of the oxygen we breathe - oceans provide the rest. My search of knowledge on Big cats, their behavior and habitats took me across the world to central India, in the Umaria district of Madhya Pradesh into the scenic Bandhavgarh National Park. I learnt a lot on this journey among them being that this is one of the most difficult cats to photograph. The tiger is extremely elusive and dwells in very thick forests, their beautiful stripes camouflage perfectly making them hard to spot. But when they grace you with their presence it's simply spectacular! This male cub is only 2.5 years old (yes 2.5, they live up to 13 years). This is definitely one of the most beautiful cats I have ever photographed. #ClementWild #Tigersofindia #Bandhavgarh

He pillado esta "mosca abejorro" (o llamada científicamente como "bombylius major") y la verdad es que son dificilísimas de captar, ya que tienen una velocidad impresionante al mover las alas. Por ende, su rapidez de desplazamiento es bestial, no te da tiempo a seguirla. Podréis pensar que puede ser como cualquier "mosca", pero no, es una mosca que sólo se alimenta del néctar de las flores y por ello ayuda a la polinización. No me gustan los insectos, ¿verdad? Jaja. Last year China promised to stop the sale of elephant ivory by the end of 2017. Now it is making good on that promise: 67 ivory carving factories and retail shops across the country will close down on Friday, and the rest by the of the year. This is great news for the 30,000 elephants killed each year for their tusks in Africa. We can each participate on social media and make our voices heard for the elephants that have no voice in their future. Will he ever be King? On average, only one in eight male lions survive to adulthood. Young cubs are very venerable. Illness, lack of food and territory take over top their reasons of death. If they beat the odds and reach sexual maturity, usually at the age of 2, the Pride males kick them out of the pride to fend for themselves. Before setting up in #GriffithPark in LA and getting the Hollywood Cougar - I had cameras above the Golden Gate Bridge on a ridge line in #MarinCounty overlooking San Francisco. Though there were signs of a cougar - I never got an image of one - so I moved the cameras to LA. As we branch out of our cities looking for new homes we move into the homes of animals. We do live with wildlife in our everyday lives, including small and larger predators. As with the cougars of the Santa Monica Rec Area - our largest Urban Park north of LA - there has never been a attack by a cougar on humans. We have not been apart of predators “image search” for food for millennium. We are upright walking on 2 legs with forward facing eyes. And we do not taste good! We use shampoos, deodorants, toothpaste, perfumes, we ingest chemicals in our everyday lives - we stink. So lets all live together. @natgeo @stevewinterphoto Cheetah cubs with mom behind them. Cheetah’s, the world’s fastest land animal are losing numbers rapidly. There are only 7,100 left in the wild. Habitat loss is the #1 reason for the decline. Also hunting of their food, and turning wilderness into agriculture or livestock production. The pet trade is also a factor. 2/3 of the cheetah population live outside protected areas as cheetahs need to roam. These areas need to be friendly to wildlife with prey species protected for these predators - or we face a world without these magnificent creatures. Scientists desire the cheetah to be re-classified as endangered, which will help them. The Forests and Grasslands where they live provide all living creatures with up to 50% of the oxygen we breathe - oceans provide the rest. And Forests and Grasslands give us 75% of the fresh water we need to live. If we can save the forest of the Amazon and other areas in Central and South America for the Jaguar and Puma. Also poaching for skins, bones and teeth is growing for the first time since the 1970’s to feed the demand for Asian Traditional Medicine and luxury items from endangered species. Here he has grabbed a black caiman - the #1 food source of Jaguars here in the north of the Pantanal. This caiman is at least 9 feet or 3 meters long!!! Jaguars are the 3rd largest of the big cats.
