A variation by @niloofar.fooladi58 on another work by her that I posted some time ago. The comparison shows how valuable it is when an artist who discovers a beautiful image works subtly and thoughtfully and creatively through the astonishing range of artistic possibilities in that image. In Western art, Mark Rothko is a particularly fine example of this tradition. But the tradition is every bit as vital to Islamic art, and is brilliantly represented here.
This beautiful and unusual work by @yalda___negargar shows again how different artistic traditions can overlap — here, both in the dramatic use of a field of gold and in the repeated use of the decorative cloud-like motif, bearing powerful echoes of the work of the Austrian Symbolist artist Gustav Klimt — famously the painter of The Woman in Gold at the Neue Galerie in New York.
