I love the gritty realism of British kitchen sink dramas. This is a classic of working class film.
In valley green, on towering crag, Our fathers fought before us, And conquered 'neath the same old flag That's proudly floating o'er us. We're children of a fighting race, That never yet has known disgrace, And as we march, the foe to face, We'll chant a soldier's song. Happy St. Patrick's Day 🍀🍺
That was an unforgettable experience. I don't think this will ever be topped. His voice is better than ever, and the atmosphere was nothing less than transcendental. I still cannot believe that, after he threw his shirt into the crowd, causing the usual chaos, we actually plunged ourselves into the fighting mob (don't ask), and managed to snatch a section of it. Mere words cannot capture this night. "It's not like any other love". 😍👌
