All of us have experiences implanted deep in the subconscious memory that help to form our opinions and limit our judgement. Too often these experiences would not endure the test of right reason, and the impressions they produce tend to delude and misguide us. Consequently, our minds become confused and imprisoned by prejudices, biases, set opinions, odd ideas and taboos. Without investigating cause and effects, we confidently turn to the sub conscious memories for direction in meeting real life situations. Only when we inquire into experiences and measure effects in the light of their origin can we hope to use experience as a reliable guide. -Fleet ...happymlkday...
In a world of imperfections, chaotic conditions, and confusion, it is difficult to remain undisturbed and unaffected by the faults and flaws that are everywhere. Human beings have always conceived of the perfect and, because we visualize the perfect but have the imperfect, we are easily inclined to faultfinding and condemnation. -Dr Fleet
Surf board shapers work in special rooms set up to clearly see all of the complex contours that go into making a board that performs well. This room is being painted dark so that the white foam of the blank surfboard contrasts the surroundings of the room. This is where Jack and @_stpnk_ will be shaping boards that will fill your life with surfing stoke.
Everything vibrates. Nothing stands still. Every disease has its own rate of vibration. If you get into the vibratory field of any disease and something within you is in harmony with that vibration, then you will "catch" that disease. That is the way that colds are scattered around - also other diseases. At beam club on Thursday nights we study the art of shifting your vibrational frequencies to strengthen your health naturally.
This is DD Palmer, he is the founder of chiropractic. His first adjustment in 1895 restored hearing to a man who had been deaf for 16 years. When that happened he thought he had the cure to deafness but as he continued to work with it, he found that its power reached far beyond that at helping to restore health. He knew that something had come through him that was to be an effective means of healing for the world and developed the science, art and philosophy of chiropractic. Before there was state licensure for chiropractic, doctors including DD were being jailed for practicing medicine without a license but persistent individuals knew of its importance and organized to give you the right to have access to it. Chiropractic is an example of something that is here for us, that some have attempted to snuff out, but it's flame is too strong, and there are protectors of it that will fight to no end to make sure that you continue to have a path to it. Sometimes you don't know how you will get through a situation but with some faith in yourself, your community or the universe, you too will find your way. I feel very grateful to be a conduit for this powerful healing art and that people like DD weathered great storms to maintain its place in the universe.
There are people at Standing Rock that are as hard as nails and driven by strong convictions. We set up camp next to two such people. This tipi was donated to a gentleman named Chris who was from Standing Rock. When we gave it to him, he nearly burst into tears, gave us abalone shells, and said a prayer for Standing Rock. Our gesture felt like a small contribution compared to what he had done but it was a shelter from the storm for him. There is a community of people who have come together, that are supporting each other through this challenging moment in time and I feel blessed to have seen this side of humanity.
It is Jacks birthday! Happy Birthday Jack. We crawled to North Dakota today and just arrived to "colder than cold" weather as @gabikalna put it. She gave me a tip over the phone tonight to always have my hands and face covered because people are getting frostbite easily. Tomorrow we are going to find out just how things are going for the protestors at Standing Rock and do all we can to bring some support.
Just got a huge load of wood to deliver to Standing Rock. Packing up the truck tonight to head out tomorrow morning.
