Leaves in the bottom of Virginia Woolf's pond. Is this a natural formation? Or did Andy Goldsworthy visit that day too?
There are clues to the past in lots of #London place names. For example, #Rye is an old English word for water course. So once upon a time there must have been a river or stream here. And there still is. Though not much of one. The only part of the River Peck to survive overground runs through Peckham Rye Park.
I was supposed to be walking along the coast from #Eastbourne to #Hastings, but due to a murder (really) had to detour inland for a stretch. The road was one of the grottiest I've seen, but then I came across this rather fetching mosaic and learnt that Hastings was the birthplace of television. I did wonder if the sign next to it had been placed there by someone with a great sense of irony.
