Edinburgh's Christmas Market is probably more stressful than fun on a Saturday afternoon a week before Christmas so we bailed & watched The Disaster Artist instead. Although not before getting a Bratwurst ♡ gotta have a big sausage at the Christmas Market 😀
10 mile walk with the Camerons ♡ This is how we do it. Also mental note for next epic walk: Find better places to pee 😲🙈
Pretty Autumn colours ♡ I don't want this season to end. Can we please bi-pass Winter ?
Happy Halloween folks! 👻👻👻 I love a good ghost story so here is a wee snap & tale of one of the most haunted spots in Edinburgh (there's quite a few) This is Sir George 'Bloody' Mackenzie's tomb. A notoriously nasty man who persecuted thousands of Presbyterians who were against the King's wishes for them to change their religion. He subjected them to horrendous conditions, including torture before executing or selling them for slavery. A lot of them died whilst imprisoned within Greyfriars and ironically they share their final resting place beside Bloody Mackenzie whose tomb sits near the back of Greyfriars kirkyard. Numerous stories of spooky going ons have been reported including scratches, bites, fainting and unexplained fires! It's said that if you're brave (or stupid) enough to come face to face with Bloody Mackenzie you should visit the tomb & recite the famous nursery rhyme 'bluidy mackingie, come oot if ye daur, lift the sneck and draw the bar!'
