I recently had the pleasure of shooting the mesmerizing landscape of Horseshoe Bend during a vivid sunset. While we were on location, we even put together a free tutorial video where I break down this shot step-by-step, all the way from capturing it in the field and editing in in post processing. Find it on my YouTube page in the tutorials playlist: @ elialocardi

There are some places in the world that sing a song to my heart, and the little village of Atrani has one of the loveliest melodies on the Amalfi Coast. ❤️ 🎶
An intense thunderstorm rolls through the ancient city of Florence as lightning strikes all around.
The incredible western landscape of Monument Valley Utah. This place is unbelievable to experience in person.
Canyon lands National Park is a breathtaking location and after visiting, I can definitely see why so many people flock to the famous Mesa Arch. Admittedly, I was hesitant to visit because I knew it was going to be a crowded shooting experience. But after scouting the location thoroughly the afternoon before, I realized how perfectly the arch would frame the unique and vast landscape beyond. While scouting, I also relied on the PhotoPills app on my iPhone to perfectly predict the exact location of the sunrise. I felt that the key to this shot was to frame the scene with incorporating a strong star burst on the rising sun.
Traveling and spending the majority of my time abroad for the past series of years, I’ve had conversations with so many people who say that the landscapes in the Western United States are some of the most spectacular in the world. Being that I’m American and after visiting more than 55 countries, I’m ashamed to say that this was the first time I’ve ever explored this much of my own country. And now, all of those conversations I’ve had with people all over the world are being proven true. The American West is phenomenal!
Back in March when we first arrived for a shooting project in New York, it was a warm spring climate of 65 degrees. Then, the next evening when I captured this photo on the Brooklyn side, it was 12 degrees with a severe wind chill! As a result, I could barely feel my fingers when I was adjusting my 10-stop ND filter. Thankfully it all worked out because for one, the sunset was incredible, and two, I didn’t end up with frost bitten fingers. ;) This shot was captured with the @fujifilmx_us GFX 50s and the brand new 23mm lens. #beautifuldestinations #wonderful_places #newyork #sunset
After a wonderful few weeks, I’m sad to say that we’re leaving Japan in the morning for a brief visit back to the United States. This Sakura season has been an amazing adventure full of incredible beauty at every turn. And one of our rainy nights shooting in Kyoto was no exception. It even gave @naomilocardi the opportunity to model her new kimono. ❤️ #japan #kyoto #sakura @fujifilmx_us #beautifuldestinations
