"The fact that we live at the bottom of a deep gravity well, on the surface of a gas covered planet going around a nuclear fireball 90 million miles away and think this to be normal is obviously some indication of how skewed our perspective tends to be." — Douglas Adams Nothing like the mountain fog rolling in to remind us we’re just specs in this world. #mountainhike #mountainmonday #notsotinyhuman #dwarfedbynature #whereyoullfindme
Reason I was late to lectures this week: I was so early that the first bus hadn’t started running so I couldn’t resist taking advantage of the quietness and exploring more. And consequently getting distracted. With all the horrific news lately, quiet moments are much appreciated. . . . #illneverlearn #commutelife #quietmorning #searchforpeace #appreciatethemoment #scotlandbeauty #lovescotland #grateful
If there's one thing I've learned since living here, it's that the weather forecast is never correct. Mostly in my favor.
Week 2 of being late to 9am lectures. I hate being late. But this time it wasn't my fault. Except for choosing to live 1.5 hours away by transport...fail. 645am train was 20 minutes late before it was canceled. So I got the bus, which took 30 minutes. At this point I had long missed my train to Stirling. Got one that should have gotten me downtown by 835 but it was also delayed so rolled into campus 20 minutes late, when I should have been 40 minutes early... HOWEVER, had I not had this mishap, I never would have seen the sunrise on the creek, so that's a win. Also had cancellations on the way home but that allowed me to see a new neighborhood and get a few miles in walking. So really, it was just an extra day of exploring and more steps.
Will never get enough of the blue sky and sunshine sneaking in. Todays rating 9/10. Despite the disappointing trip to Ikea to not pick up a mattress, I got a run in and got to spend most of the day outside in the sun.
