@renan_ozturk photo // Exploration isn't just about seeking the places that haven't been found. It's just as much about creating things that haven't been created, especially when that art and those stories can give voice to things unheard. Unfelt. That's an adventure in itself. ~ @the_hula @taylorfreesolo @rudy.le @paytenpurdy @camp4collective
Photo by @adamfergusonphoto After daytime temperatures reached 107.6 °F a summer storm forms over an opal field in Coober Pedy, South Australia. Coober Pedy in remote Australia supplies most of the worlds precious opals. ‘Coober’ as the locals call it, is a multicultural town that has attracted independent prospectors digging for opal since the early 1900’s. @thephotosociety @natgeocreative @adamfergusonphoto #australia #australianmade #cooberpedy #ferguson

In the background, the famous ‘Sassi’ of Matera: a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1993. Matera holds one of the largest colony of Lesser Kestrel - about a thousand couples nest in the ancient town. In the forest high above the canyons of Utah, Clint Mecham a predator specialist from the State of Utah Dept of Natural Resources, gently lowers a sedated mountain lion onto the forest floor. For more than 30 years he's consistently collected data from lion across the entire state, and collared in excess of 400 mountain lion, allowing both the health and numbers of lion present to be accurately monitored by researchers. Photo by Corey Arnold @arni_coraldo America's national symbol, the Bald Eagle, is not always the stoic postal service mascot fearlessly plucking salmon from the pristine rivers of Alaska that many of us imagine. I found this eagle scavenging old fish from the deck of a pollock trawler and many others rooting through garbage dumpsters around town. Reality can be easily overshadowed by what we believe to be true. This eagle is not blind but instead captured mid-blink. I'll be spending the next month in the Aleutian Islands exploring the relationship between industry and nature adding to my eagle-centric series #AleutianDream .
